Despite the threat of inclement conditions a good mixed field turned out for the Centennial Icebucket a drawn pairs competition on a Bamboozle Stableford basis. In the end the weather held and there were some fine scores posted.
Half of last years successful team were in the money again with Cher & Shaun Xiong this time partnering Alan & Karyn Scott to compile a score of 128 which was more than good enough on the day. In second were the team of Joe & Sue Mullins with Grant & Janet Osborn on 122. There was a close encounter for third with a countback required before the composite team of Bruce Cooper, Alison Bluck, Kate Shier & Simon Fraser filled that position - judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
There was only one 2 and that was recorded by Alan Scott. Nearest the pin on 18 for 2 for men went to Grant Mitchell while Rosemary McElrea was closest for three for the women. Another very successful event capped off with a plentiful buffet. The next Mixed event is the Wellington Salver on 7 March so put that date in your diary now!
