As we are running short of space just the briefest of details: the Sams Cup for lefthanders was won by the man with the loud distinctive laugh Mark Fiebig (37 points) from Graham Purkis (36) from Bryan Graham(35).
The stableford scoring was again at the top end of the scale: Seniors - Tony Park (40), Warren Jones (37) on countback from Liam Cumberpatch; Intermediates - Lawerence Wong, Ian Walker, Tony Millar in that order on 37 by countback; Juniors - Richard Pearse (39) from Peter Phelan (38) & Ron Williams (not Trig - 37). There were 8 twos worth $33.75 each, nearest to the pins - 3 Ian Currie, 11 Rod O'Brien (again - but he only played 12 holes) $45 each , nearest the pin for 2 on 2 sponsored by Linden Leaves - Graham Purkis, nearest the pin on 18 for 2 sponsored by Benjarong Thai Cuisine - Brendon Follows, nett eagles struck hole 12 - Charles Whitwham & Mark Fiebig.
In the Top Dog Match Niven Boyle & Ian Currie were successful over the two David's - Robinson & Blair and move through to the final against myself and Dean Palmer. Overall the pace of play on Saturday was abysmal, the morning groups were around in good order but it fell apart thereafter. I am not sure what else we can do as at the moment it feels like a very solid reinforced brick wall.
Sunday's weather conditions together with the inter club programme took a toll on the G E Rhodes Cup mixed event with a relatively small field of 24. Leading home the field in the Foursomes Flag Match were David Youn & Young Kim on 18 green, from Struan & Terry Cain beside 18 green from Grahame Buist & Sue Townsend 18 fairway. Shaun & Cher Xiong won the prize for closest to the pin on 18 for two while the pairings of Grant & Janet Osborn and David Youn & Young Kim secured twos.
