John Sanders (JB) & Anthony Doyle (Ants) are continuing to look at ways of expanding the services offered through through Shirley Links Golf Shop. In the latest initiative Craig Mitchell (formerly of Clearwater) has joined the teaching staff as an independent contractor to provide further assistance to those of us in desperate need of golfing redemption. We welcome Craig and his clients to the Shirley environment.
A number of members have commented on how good the new inter club jerseys look and in order to fill the void the pro shop are now taking orders for "vests" and "long sleeves" with or without the club logo. If you are interested the order form is in the pro shop so see Callum or Gareth next time you are playing. In addition the Board has confirmed the design of the new club tie, which features the Club crest, and they should be available to members within the not too distant future again through the pro shop.
Many thanks to club member Nathan Gilbert of Taylormade who arranged for the new release of Taylormade golf balls to be made available on a complimentary basis through the pro shop on Saturday. In what is an unusual occurrence my ball survived 18 holes without frequenting the water or travelling out of bounds it did however enjoy visiting the sand and making acquaintance with numerous trees around the course.
