It is a bit of a case of "All quiet on the Western Front" this week pending completion of the Club Champs on Saturday / Sunday.
That said the intrepid Metro Team travels to Waitikiri on Sunday while the President's host McLeans Island at home - this will be Paul Needs debut performance as Team Manager with Dennis Doherty being away. Close scrutiny of both selection and subsequent match result will take place with special emphasis on his reporting ability (yes - Paul you will have to turn on the computer and tap something out and then work out how to send it). (Since writing I have checked my e-mails apparently selection is beyond Paul with Dennis naming both teams today prior to his departure for the UK - Paul you may be in charge but not total charge -Ed)
Our thoughts go out to our office manager Cecily who unfortunately suffered a heart attack and was in hospital last week. We understand things have progressed well with a couple of stents being inserted on Friday. Hopefully Cecily will be out of hospital early this week and on the road to recovery. In the interim Struan will be holding the fort by himself with help from some of the members on an as and when required basis so just bear in mind we will be short handed for the next wee while.
Finally we are having a working bee on Sunday to help with some tidy-up bits around the course. We still have a very few places available for volunteers - just for two hours 10 - 12 - either speak to me or the office.
In the interim good golfing people..........
