Odd Spots.........

Congratulations to Brian Nixey who holed out on Saturday at the 3rd , a six iron heard but not seen- well done. This was Brian's second hole in one and we all appreciated the "shout" when he got back into the bar!! Di McClelland in the Saturday Ladies also had a hole in one so obviously it was a day of aces.

Last week I reported on the success of the Christchurch members at the NZ Seniors Open but what I didn't know then was that John Sanders had been selected for the New Zealand Seniors Team against Australia. Congratulations John on your selection this is a great reward for the consistent golf you have played over the last year especially in light of your contribution to the successful Woodward Cup campaign. We look forward to a report in due course.

Some of you might not be aware but Mitchell Vincent fell off his bike on Tuesday and broke his arm/elbow. After a couple of false starts he had an operation on Saturday morning and was released on Sunday with his right arm in a bright green cast. Mitchell will be out of golf for a few months but at least at the weekend he had everyone running after him! It was also a relief to see Barry O'Neill at the Club on Saturday evening after his health scare we look forward to seeing him swinging a club soon.
