The Club is indebted to a number of parents who have over the years supported our Junior Golf Team. This year is no exception and we thank Mark Harris and his team for their involvement.
After Round 1 being washed out the Junior competition commenced on Sunday at Rawhiti. This year we have two teams - one in the gross section , the other in the nett (handicapped) division. Both teams got off to a great start with the gross team winning 3/1 and the nett division 31/2 to 1/2.
Our junior ranks have been swelled by the addition of Chris McArthur & James Ardagh both who show remarkable promise and potential even at this early stage as is reflected in their slope indices. They joined Liam Cumberpatch & Andrew Topp in the gross section for the first round. The nett division gave away a number of shots but did well to overcome that disadvantage and record a win - well done to George Sim , James Harris , Alex Sloane and Richard Kerr.
As well as Mark thanks to the parents who were in attendance on Sunday; Grant Topp , Andrew Sloane , Peter Sim (in the most underpowered cart in existence!!) and David Kerr. Hopefully time permitting I will see a lot more of the Juniors during the competition especially on the 5 April when they play at home.
