Many thanks to all those readers who have expressed both concern and sympathy in respect of my 'love life' but as yet this has not firmed to any concrete proposals - still I live in expectation (and hope)!
The astute observer will have noted that at this moment I should be on the road that leads to Westport but late last week the worker packed a sad and left his employment indicating he now did not want to proceed with mediation. I have put the Monkees Greatest Hits back in the CD rack and rearranged my week for a 'quieter' time in the office.
My golf at the weekend was a mixed bag some not so good and most pretty awful!! For the avoidance of doubt I record, yes, I was lucky to get past the ladies tee on 16 for 3 and all debts have now been paid. No I do not need to reiterate the story again but I will say it was very nearly a "gin" shot for my first.
Sunday saw me engage in a titanic Top Dog battle against the two time former champions Grant Mitchell and John Parkes. It was a very tight match with never more than 1 in it. I managed to extend the game into the 19th hole by 3 putting 18 from less than 10 feet to allow them back to square. Fortunately my partner, Dean Palmer, sunk a good putt on the first extra hole to move us into the next round against that dynamic duo of Brian Ronan and Bryan Andrews (Amanda will need to buy in extra stocks of red wine!!).
