It is not my intention to harangue members through this blog and it may well be and it is likely that the readers are not the culprits but Shirley Links is our golf course and keeping it in a great playing condition is not just the job of the greens staff. All members are responsible for repairing their pitch marks on the green, properly raking bunkers, and replacing & sanding divots.
The appearance and playing condition of the course will improve markedly if these simple steps are taken or players that digress are told to go back and fix it. On Saturday I played at Clearwater and it was apparent that the same problem exists there so it is not a problem simply applicable to us. Enough said.
