What's Happening Week of 11 May....

Perhaps for the first time in a wee while it is safe to draw a breath and relax for a moment?! The Board meeting has been postponed from this week until 25 May with the Men's Committee also being changed to the 27 May so I may actually have two further weeks without a golf meeting!!!

Saturdays Competition is for the Otago Teams Salver being Teams of 4 Best Ball Stroke Nett. This competition is always great fun and gives everyone a chance to part of a winning combination. Watch out for the morning players as they are normally very competitive especially the Brown/Rountree/Hanham et al grouping!

Sunday sees one of our regular inter club feature matches with Avondale for the Shirdale Cup. This competition is over three grades Senior, Veteran and Junior. Competition is by way of foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon. The match is important as it doubles as a Woodward Cup shakedown. Our Senior team is Peter MacDougall, Tom Turner, Liam Cumberpatch, Brent JI, Simon Yorke, Brendon Follows and Aidan Millar. We wish all the teams Good Luck and play well.

The Metro team will make an attempt to get on the course to play the match against Coringa postponed from Sunday and our Juniors are working towards finals day at Templeton. We wish Mark Harris, the supporters & parents and players all the best for the weekend.

For those of you struggling to fill up your lives now is a good time to consider getting the next round of Top Dog and Page Trophy matches played before matters become pressing at the end of the month and with Queen's Birthday just around the corner do not procrastinate as you will run out of free weekends!

As always enjoy your golf and I will see you at Shirley if not before.
