Handicaping.............

Recently New Zealand Golf polled the clubs in regards the continued requirement to file a card in matchplay situations. It was the recommendation of the Men's, Women's Committees & Board that the practice be changed and cards not be compulsory. We are awaiting the NZG reply at this stage.

On cards generally, like most things in golf it relies on the integrity of the player. It goes without saying that all cards good or bad should be filed so that a realistic handicap is held by the player. There is always an area of doubt where you are playing in a teams or pairs event but if you continually hole out then in my view you should return a card.
