As potentially we move closer to the Winter months the Club programme begins to thin out slightly and this week looks exceptionally quiet unless you wish to play in the Ladies Open Tournament on Friday 14 May for the Moya Nutt Salver for handicaps 0 - 23.5.
On Saturday Match of the Day is a teams best ball stroke for the Otago Teams Salver. Scores in the high 50's or low 60's are required to be in the money and as always the Rountree, Brown et al combination will take some beating.
Sunday sees a strong Christchurch contingent head over to Avondale for the annual Shirdale Cup competition with matches at Senior, Junior, & Masters level. This is an important event to get an early handle on possible inter club selections for later in the year. All the best to the players and remember at Avondale you need to hit it straight not long!!
This month's Board meeting has been postponed for a week because of some absences so look for President Ken's report on the website late next week - in a similar vein the Men's committee meeting has moved back as well. If you wish to provide any feedback on the Alternate Course could you please do so by the end of this week either to the office, myself, Ken or any Board member should you be able to locate such said persons.
In the interim good golfing and I will see you at Shirley if not before.
