Unexpectedly I had a very pleasant four days in Dunedin. With settled fine autumnal weather I begin to understand why its inhabitants are so vociferous in their protestations as to the mildness of the climate enjoyed year round.
For those of you who may know Dunedin the Department office is located at 1 Bond Street, one back from the main drag, my motel was in High Street a mere 250m stroll up a slight incline. However to reach such residence I had to walk past - a brothel (La Maison - The House of Pleasure), a Pub (The Duke of Wellington - purveyors of fine ales) and the Casino. Some may well believe this closely resembles heaven!
Fortunately on the return journey, in the morning, all these establishments were closed which meant I only had to circumnavigate the Classic Cafe Coffee Cart before arriving at work. In fact for once in my life I was the "model" employee being first to arrive and last to leave on consecutive days!
