Without being an IT Geek I think for someone approaching "middle" "middle age" I do not do too badly in the micro chip era - well so I thought!!
I was having dinner with some members of girlfriend's extended family and discussing mass communication techniques and how I advised of the Blog update by group e-mail - thinking I was pretty "cool". When niece, of late teen years, gave me a look, nay a withering look, reserved for decrepit dinosaurs, "Nobody communicates by mass e-mail these days in fact most people have abandoned their e-mail addresses!!"
Apparently today's acceptable and approved method of update is exclusively reserved for Facebook and those fortunate enough to be listed as Friends who receive automatic notifications when new information is posted.
My efforts to explore this medium further were defeated by the Departments firewall as apparently this is a prohibited site so needless to say group e-mails will continue despite their antiquated nature I have however committed to ascertaining and implementing something to do with blind copies (actually my computer knowledge is pretty limited!!)
