A full field took to the Alternate Course on Saturday in a Pairs Aggregate Stableford for the Members Invitation Day. Once again the scoring was of the highest calibre and we may have to look to growing the rough and narrowing the fairways to bring some semblance of order to the otherwise outrageous results.
Regular golf seems to agree with Toby Giles as he posted 40 points ably assisted by Bentley Seeto - 39 points (79 total) to collect $40 each. Geoff Baldwin 37 & Kevin McSoriley 38 were in second with 75 points and $30 each. On countback and receiving $20 with 73 points were Richard Blunt (38) and John Edwards (35) bad luck to Jim Paulsen (38) & Bruce Johnston (35) who missed out on a collect.
The two's pool was $283 and the 15 winners each received $18.86 the jackpot of $195 was not struck and carries forward. Nearest to the pins were worth $50 and won by Andrew Hopkins on 3 (normal 11) and Philip Hong on 12 (normal 3). Mike Kirkland struck it lucky and picked up $125 for nett eagles on 11, the normal 2. Please note I birdied the same and on the Alternate layout received a shot unfortunately I "forgot" to put in my money given I was playing in the Wellington match (bugger)!!!
